Fall Poetry Winner

To announce the winner of the fall poetry contest drumroll please poem number two!

Poem two: The leaves say good-bye as the trees cry away the last of their woes

The birds announce the news their songs declare nature’s change of hue

The grasses bow their heads and form a bed for the leaves dancing down

The wind blows at the trees like candles causing the last leaves to fall

Nature is preparing to be silenced by the snow

Fall is here winter is near

Here is a collection of poems that I have written:

I will continue adding to this so check for new poems

Amber eyes glint in the black curtin of the night,  smoke coloured, wiry fur hangs lank on the powerful frame, all senses alert and ready, always on guard, always ready to prowl,to run, to strike, to hunt. Always wating, always ready... The Wolf.

Waiting in the shadows

Coat  black as a starless night

Ready for ambush

.... The Panther

Gliding, dancing, spinning
swiftly soaring with friends
laughter rings through the air
brisk mornings spent flying
from your worries and fears
twisting, turning, training, playing
performing, practicing, prancing, giggling
glittering in snow, glancing around the white world
wondering how every thing can be so beautiful quiet and
pristine, in a blanket of diamonds and powder wishing you
could stay for hour after hour but all to soon it becomes dark
and with heavy feet you head back to your home but your
heart and mind are on the rink, as you drink your hot  coco
you think of all you did that day  in the  beautiful sun

The Princess Academy, Palace of Stone: Book Review

Revolution is the word on the commoner’s lips, and Miri must make a choice that could change everything. In the incredible sequel to the Princess Academy Miri is whisked away from the only place she has ever known, to go to the city of Asland to attend her friend Britta's wedding. Little does Miri know that her arrival was during troubled times for the kingdom… threats of a revolution are lurking around every corner of the city. Miri soon finds her self-tangled and torn between loyalty to her friend and hope in daring ideas that could bring incredible changes to the kingdom. Miri must apply all that she learned at the princess academy and knowledge gained along the way to figure out what she truly wants and what she is fighting for.

"No! She said because she had never felt so powerful. She was not one person; she was a crowd. She belonged to the mass of bodies and voices strong in number untied in purpose." This quote alone shows you that this book is not your typical fairytale. The Princess Academy, Palace of Stone is a spellbinding novel filled with twists and turns in the plot that leaves you guessing. Although this novel is set in a world of fantasy it is very easy to relate to Miri trying to follow her heart and head in a mess of choices. This book has an incredible mix of complex description and intriguing plot that allows you to truly put yourself in the books pages and the characters shoes. Shannon Hale writes with deep feeling and a web of emotions regarding love, friendship, hope, discovery and returning home. There are many themes within this writing but I think the main theme is following your heart. I really enjoyed this book and I would recommend this book to anyone who loves fantasy and has ever been faced with difficult decisions to make.

My Harry Potter Litspiration

When I walked into a bookstore. One day I was surprised and delighted to discover that one of the books on their life changing book display was Harry Potter. I was overjoyed loving harry Potter but when I reflect about this it is extremely true. Harry Potter inspired my love of fantasy and helped me discover that books can have an incredible balance between breathtaking, picture painting detail and a exciting fast paced plot that makes the book impossible to put down. Harry Potter also changed the way I wrote it encouraged me to let my imagination lead the story and how to create complex plots in my stories.

How did Harry Potter inspire you? (if you have read it) What other books have inspired you?
please lave your answers in the comments :)
